Celebrating a major life milestone. 4 Binghamton University students underwent a Jewish rite of passage Sunday afternoon. A four-way bar and bat mitzvah was held at at the University's Chabad Center. Bar Mitzvahs for boys and Bat Mitzvahs for girls are held when youngsters are around age 13. But, for varying reasons each of these students missed out on that opportunity.
Daniel Lazrus was one of the students being honored today "It's just a special day. It's a traditional thing, you know. Everyone in my family, my parents both had bar and bat mitzvahs, and my brother. It's really about tradition and getting in touch with your Jewish roots and your religion," said Lazrus. Family and friends of each of the four students came out to celebrate the event.
