The Armenian Report left for Artsakh using the temporary Stepanakert-Goris route connecting Artsakh with Armenia.
The road is 4.7 kilometers (3 miles) long and it goes by Armenian villages of Hin Shen, Mets Shen and Berdadzor.
While on the drive, the crew bypassed Berdzor and Aghavno. The red-roofed village of Aghavno is seen from afar under Azerbaijani occupation.
During the drive to Artsakh, numerous Russian peacekeepers are seen in tanks, vehicles, and on foot.
Also visible are Azerbaijani construction workers.
As the crew got closer to Stepanakert, a sign on the road greets them — it reads, “Free Artsakh Welcomes You”.
The new and permanent route connecting Artsakh with Armenia is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by Spring 2023.
Once Armenia’s permanent route is ready, this current route that we took today will become Azerbaijan’s.
