A playthrough of the boss Dural in the Saturn version of Virtua Fighter Kids.
(Dural has the same moves as she had in VF2)
As with Remix, Kids is a sort of odd stop-gap game, made as a reimagining of VF2 with the characters in Chibi form. Due to the fact that it was made on STV hardware, the graphics have actually been downgraded, so they still look decent. Dural appears him in the same comical fashion as most characters, even with a variant where she has a fishbowl for a head.
There really isn't much to say about this game. Dural technically plays like she did in VF2, but the problem is that nobody in this game really plays like they did in VF2. They're too small to attack on another, and as a result, their attacks never stretch far enough, making fights ultimately extremely tedious. Why you'd make a downgrade of one of the best arcade fighting games there is (especially after successfully porting it to the Saturn as well) is rather baffling to me. I used to really like playing this game in the arcades when I used to live in Dubai (even more than VF2 for some reason, despite them both being in the same arcade) and I played this one quite a bit although I couldn't really tell you why now. I suppose it did its job correctly of getting kids interested in VF.
Eventually, the machine was replaced with a cabinet of Capcom vs SNK. So, really, it all worked out for the best.
