First published in 1909, the ten “chapters" of "The Mastery of Destiny" are powerful expositions on the nature of our thoughts in the development of our lives.“Practice of Meditation” is the eighth chapter. In this companion piece to “The Life Triumphant”, James Allen emphasizes personal responsibility and harnessing one’s inner power for true success and satisfaction in life.Allen's focus is how our thoughts create habits which in turn become part of our character. As such we are responsible for our deeds and actions - and our eventual destiny. We’ll be publishing each chapter independently and conclude with a longer form version that includes the book in its entirety.

James Allen (1864-1912) was an Englishman who retired from the business world to pursue a lifestyle of writing and contemplation. Allen believed that with the right direction of thought, an individual can enjoy a higher existence – financially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually – and obtain the “knowledge of himself which is Understanding, Wisdom, Power.”
