Built in 1874, the Jain temple and Dharamshala at Lachuar is revered by Jains as it serves as a gateway to Kshatriya Kund Gram, which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Mahavira.
The idol in this temple is more than 2,600 years old. This black stone idol is of weighs around 250 kg.
Many in Jainism believes and claims that , this place kshatriyakund, not Vaishali, is the birthplace of Lord Mahavir, the tithankar of Jains.
This place is located in Sikandra block which is approximately 20 km. west from Jamui district headquarter. The temple also organizes regular treks to Kund.
