Oscar Pistorius has served half of his sentence for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. At this time, offenders in South Africa become eligible for parole.
Pistorius shot Reeva Steenkamp at their home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day 2013. The couple had been dating for 3 months.
If granted parole, Pistorius will serve the rest of his sentence outside of prison.
