The World's Strongest Man is an international strongman competition held every year. Organized by American event management company IMG, a subsidiary of Endeavor, it is broadcast in the US during summers and in the UK around the end of December each year.[1] Competitors qualify based on placing in the top three at the four to eight Giants Live events each year.

The current event sponsor is SBD Apparel.[2] Previous sponsors include Tachi Palace, Coregenx,[3] Commerce Hotel and Casino,[4] DAF Trucks, Tonka, MET-Rx, and PartyPoker.com. World's Strongest Man has been rebuked by the Pennsylvania House Representatives for it lack of testing for steroids, rampant steroid use and fatality rate. It was rebuked in 2014 and 2016.

The event has a number of rival and parallel competitions with which it is sometimes confused, including the Strongman Super Series, the now defunct IFSA Strongman World Championships (run from 2005 to 2007 after the International Federation of Strength Athletes parted company with WSM in 2004) and Strongman Champions League.

Tom Stoltman (born 30 May 1994) is a strongman competitor from Invergordon, Scotland.[2] On 20 June 2021, Tom won the 2021 World's Strongest Man competition, becoming the first man from Scotland to win the World's Strongest Man.[3] He is the younger brother of five-time Scotland's Strongest Man Luke Stoltman. Tom finished tied for 5th in the 2019 World's Strongest Man final with four-time champion Brian Shaw. At the 2020 World's Strongest Man competition in Bradenton, Florida, Stoltman went on to finish 2nd, winning three of the six events in the final.[4]

Luke Stoltman (born 22 November 1984) is a strongman competitor from Invergordon, Scotland.[2] He is a five-time winner of Scotland's Strongest Man and the older brother of two-time, and current World's (and Scotland's) Strongest Man Tom Stoltman. Before and during his strongman career, Luke has been a dimensional surveyor working on oil rigs, which means he has been unable to train for 2 weeks out of a month for most of his career. He along with his brother Tom are the only brothers in history to reach the finals of the World's Strongest Man. He is fondly known by other strongmen and fans as ‘Tom’s brother’.
