Intestinal barrier health is critical for maintaining gastrointestinal and systemic health. Dysfunction of the intestinal barrier has been widely implicated in autoimmune, allergic, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Traditionally, testing options for determining intestinal barrier status have focused on various measures of intestinal permeability, i.e., “leaky gut”. However, the intestinal barrier is composed of several interrelated factors, such as the gut microbiome, the epithelial layer, secreted factors such as mucus and secretory IgA, and the mucosal immune system. In this webinar, practitioners will learn how advanced stool testing with GI-MAP provides a much more comprehensive picture of intestinal barrier status, yielding clinically-actionable insights that can inform personalized treatment approaches for improving intestinal barrier function.
