Not judging the city today, but when I think New York (Manhattan, to be fair to Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island), it largely doesn't exist anymore. A cup of kindness yet for times long past. I was born in 1962 and I live in Central Time Zone Nebraska.
Happy New Year!
Nearly every building shown either no longer exists or it's not owned by or used for what or whom it was designed for. You can think this stupid if you want to. You know what Philadelphia is to me? Thirtieth Street Station and looking under the Ben Franklin Bridge at the Victor Talking Machine Factory across the river in Camden, N.J.
Baltimore? Francis Scott Key and Knabe pianos. I have a Victrola and a 1903 Knabe piano. It needs to be restored, but it's a great piano. Key owned a Knabe. It still exists!
