How to adjust them with the engine running:
The engine has to be up to operating temperature. Remove one valve cover. Start the engine. Slowly loosen one rocker arm nut till the rocker arm JUST BARELY starts to tick. SLOWLY tighten the rocker arm nut till the rocker arm JUST BARELY stops ticking. STOP! Wait ten seconds and SLOWLY adjust the rocker arm nut 1/4 turn. STOP! Wait ten seconds and then adjust the rocker arm nut 1/4 turn. Repeat till you have achieved your final adjustment goal (1/4 or 1/2 or 3/4 or 1 turn).
