This video will get you oriented around the concept of recording music into your computer from your Nord keyboard. This is especially good if you are starting from scratch and you've never done anything like this before (but always wanted to).

Learn the basics of recording your Nord keyboard directly into your Macintosh computer via an audio interface and a program called "GarageBand."

This video covers the following:

• Describe what GarageBand is (DAW, Digital Audio Workstation)
• Connections between the Nord Stage 3, the computer via the USB, and audio out into the audio inputs of the Scarlette 18i8 from the Focusrite audio interface (links below).
• Basic GarageBand techniques such as recording in stereo, 1 bar count in, the metronome, monitor audio input, and playback. Then we talk about recording audio levels. You'll find a brief demo on how to trim the recording and set it up for a loop. We also add a virtual drummer to play along too.
• Brief mention of Logic Pro X for sending MIDI signals out.

Recording music from your Nord Keyboard into the computer can be a nice "next step" in your evolution of learning how to work between your Nord Keyboard and computers in general.
