For the second consecutive year, the Atlantic Forest Great Reserve was featured in one of the panels of the 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP27, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
This video, featuring the Great Reserve and the potential of the preserved Atlantic Forest, was shown to the world.🌎
✅ We share a practical example to help solve some of the demands and challenges shown at COP27. The initiative has a lot to contribute, not only with Brazil, but with many other countries.
With 2.7 million hectares of preserved ecosystems, the Great Reserve is home to traditional communities and indigenous peoples, carries much of our country's history and harbors all the exuberance of the Atlantic Forest's biodiversity.
By involving many sectors of society, such as the academy, city halls, communities, institutions, entrepreneurs, among others, it allows the sum of efforts to fight for a truly sustainable development model for the region, based on a Restorative Economy.🤝🌱
This territory is a short distance from two of Brazil’s largest cities, São Paulo and Curitiba, with good infrastructure, allowing communities to develop while protecting forests and natural environments.
The Atlantic Forest Great Reserve is a good example of how humanity can face today’s biggest challenges.
