This video is our tribute to the fantastically iconic Boeing 777 filmed in the summer of 2022 at London's Heathrow airport, showing arrivals on runways 27L and 27R, filmed from Myrtle Avenue and the Renaissance Hotel car park respectively. We held back release of this with the intention of publishing later in the year when things were darker and colder here in the UK as a reminder that sunnier times are on their way. And now seems just the time.
The B777 first flew on 12/6/94 with United Airlines being the launch customer, with the first commercial flight taking place 7/6/95 between Heathrow and Dulles Airport, Washington USA. We hadn't appreciated that in the very early phases of the design of this aircraft, that it had been envisaged to be a tri-engined jet. Just imagine........................
