The trade vehicle logistical operation at Dublin Port is an impressive one to watch!

A variety of vehicles are imported and exported through Dublin Port, with 89,106 vehicles imported in 2022. The majority are discharged from ships docked in Alexandra Basin via side ramps, stern ramps or roll-on roll-off ramps located at berths 31, 32, 36 and 37 in the North Port Common User Area (CUA).

Trade vehicles travel in convoys from the North Port to various other terminals around Dublin Port including Terminal 6 (T6) which is accessed via a specialist bridge which runs over the East Wall Road. Vehicles are then collected by car transporters which travel to the various distribution dealers around the city and further a field.
