An improved Hunter class frigate has been unveiled by BAE Systems Australia.
This design, which is intended for Batch II of the class, entails installing 16 Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) and 64 Mk41 Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) within the Hunter frigate, for a total of 96 VLS cells. The 5-inch Mk 45 cannon would be removed, which would allow the VLS count to rise to an incredible 128 cells—more than the guided missile cruisers of the US Navy Ticonderoga class.
