Out on safari in the untamed, natural world often shows us a side of survival we might not want to see, but when we enter into these wild African places, we are observing nature as it happens. Not just heartwarming moments. This was one of those moments when a pride of lion had targeted a buffalo calf, and we watched breathlessly as the mother fought back and gave the lions a hard time getting what they wanted. These two species are renowned enemies, and we've also witnessed times where lion cubs have met their end against a buffalo. On this occasion, the lions landed their prey and fought among themselves over the meal in the end. It helps to remember that nature possesses no malice and that it is all part of the natural balance. We were lucky to be there and watch these two come head to head.
