In St. John’s, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Newfoundland and Labrador’s chief medical officer of health, Andrew Furey, premier of N.L., and John Haggie, minister of health, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Starting September 18, residents will be required once again to wear masks in indoor public spaces and schools. Students in grades 4 to 12 will be required to wear masks on school buses and in common areas. The province lifted its last mask mandate on August 10.
