IIT Madras is all set to host the 51st edition of Saarang, one of India’s largest student-run cultural festivals, from 9th to 13th January 2025! With an expected footfall of over 80,000, Saarang 2025 celebrates the magic of storytelling through its theme, ‘Frames and Fables.’
This year’s highlights include spectacular Pro Shows featuring renowned artists like Amit Trivedi, Ritviz, Antariksh, and Grammy-winner Shashank Subramanyam. The World Fest brings global melodies to life with performances from a Japanese orchestra, an Italian progressive metal band, and other international artists.
For the first time, the Multicultural Folk Parade will showcase Tamil Nadu’s rich traditions, while engaging workshops will spotlight folk arts like Kalaripayattu, Parai, and Oyilattam. The 'Empower' Campaign aims to uplift differently-abled individuals through art and culture, fostering inclusivity and creativity. The attendees can immerse themselves in a variety of competitions and workshops spanning freestyle dance, acapella, fine arts, and culinary arts.
The Spotlight Lecture Series will feature inspiring sessions with icons like K S Chithra, Niharika NM, Sandy Master, and Lydian Nadaswaram. From soulful Classical Nights to electrifying EDM and Rock Nights, Saarang 2025 offers something unforgettable for everyone.
