(2 Feb 2018) Jordanian Orthodox worshippers in Jordan held their annual pilgrimage to the River Jordan on Friday, where Christians believe Jesus was baptised.
About two-thousand Christian pilgrims marched to the Church of St. John the Baptist on the river's east bank, led by Bishop Banathiktos, the head of the Orthodox churches in Jordan.
UNESCO has designated the area on the river - known as Al-Maghtas, or "baptism" in Arabic - as a World Heritage site.
