A recording made by an ITV and BBC viewer from the television broadcasts. The sound quality is good for its vintage and I have made no attempt to adjust it. I'm very experienced at transferring cassettes to digital and decided it was best left as it is.
There are four parts to my recording and the cassettes change in the film to mark the tape flips.
Sides 1-2 are on a red Raphone C90 cassette and feature touchdown.
Sides 3-4 are on a blue unbranded C120 cassette and cover lift off.
Side 1 - 4'13" "The Eagle has landed"
Side 2 - 17'24" "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"
Side 3 - 22'55" Richard Nixon's telephone call to the moon
Side 3 - 50'35" Countdown to lift off
Side 4 - 4'22" "A report coming in that they've docked".
The timings relate to the cassettes not the film but will give you a general idea of where to find specific moments.
I am looking for copies of Pink Floyd's performance on the BBC from 22.00 on 20 July 1969: Omnibus presenting So What If It's Just Green Cheese? If you recorded it that night I would love to hear from you.
