Hi friends, this video is a tough one - the comeback of 'heroin chic' as a trend seen on runways, social media, reality TV and more in 2023.
This trend was previously seen in 90s and Y2K fashion - in this video, we explore the existence and eventual downfall of this trend as media moved into a more "natural" body portrayal with the rise of the Kardashian empire.
Yet, now as Y2K fashion re-emerges, we also see reality TV stars, influencers, and models alike resorting to dangerous methods in an effort to attain this "look".
My opinion (which you'll hear at the end) - revolves around what I always say....let's practice BALANCE. And that means - avoiding extremes.
This is an important topic to cover for me, as someone who was previously impacted by what I saw in the media when I was a young girl.
