It's October! And we all know what that means! Halloween!
And true to the spirit of scaring in the Filipino tradition, our first draw and discuss involves one of the most popular cryptids that told in various folk tales, legends, myths, and even the silver screen - The Manananggal.
The Manananggal is classified under a group of cryptids called Aswang (monsters), and is largely described as female (though male examples exist) vampires capable of separating their upper body from their lower half. They use their proboscis-like tongues to suck out a fetus from a mother's womb.
