At the opening ceremony of the Asian-African summit in Jakarta on April 22, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech with the aim of carrying forward the Bandung Spirit and promoting the common development of both vibrant continents. Xi says that the Bandung Conference has played a historic role, and China vows to carry forward the spirit behind that conference. In regards to deepening Asian-African cooperation, Xi says China will promote South-North cooperation and South-South cooperation to offer help to lesser developed countries.
