With the growing need of computing power, distributed applications, and larger data centers also the need for a reliable and simple use cluster manager and programming abstraction grows. Apache Mesos is an open source project targeting those needs and is used by large companies such as Twitter or Apple to manage their cluster. This talk will first provide a general overview of Mesos and then talk about some recent features such as persistence and external storage, Quota, and Oversubscription. We will also discuss about the practices such monitoring, UI, security required to run Mesos in production settings.
