Opposition is an important component within the government system to ensure that there is an element inside the country whose only job is to demand accountability and suggest alternative ways of doing things. In Indonesia, we have none of that.
Coalition building is the name of the game here in Indonesia, so checks and balances could practically be null if a single coalition is able to secure enough votes and positions, resulting in a country with virtually no effective opposition at all. Why is opposition important for citizens to understand? What is so crucial about having opposition and how do we build that?
