For protection of authenticity of banknotes watermarks are used, having the form of an eagle and a digital designation of nominal value, windowed security thread printed microtext, which is across the banknote, and forms a dotted line and a Golden hologram of the map of Zambia, when considering it from different angles visible to the eagle, denomination numeral with the prefix "K".
Translated from one of the local dialects the name of the modern national currencies of Zambia means "freedom". Thus, the name of the national currency of Zambia symbolizes the spirit of freedom and national independence of this African country.
Banknote of 20 Kwacha although it is in circulation, but in fact has become a rarity, so most major retailers round their prices to the nearest 50 Kwacha when calculating a total amount.
