The latest Stephan Wanger Bead Town project, “Life in the French Quarter” is created in partnership with Hotel Monteleone and sponsored by the New Orleans Advocate, and Little Vic's Gelateria. “Life in the French Quarter” is projected to receive the Guinness World Records official designation between Fall 2015/Spring 2016 for the largest bead mosaic, while raising awareness about the sustainable use of resources (Mardi Gras beads and bottle caps) through the display of "Life in the French Quarter." The mural measuring 8'(H) x 96'(F) features the annual Joan of Arc parade in New Orleans.

Since 2007, Stephan Wanger has been creating larger than life mosaic art pieces that embrace a photo-realistic style from recycled Mardi Gras beads and other recycled materials. In an effort to continue spreading a message about the sustainable use of resources through the display of beautiful Louisiana landmarks, Stephan Wanger launched Bead Town in 2011.

Bead Town is a compendium of artworks, classes, and exhibits of more than 100 mosaic pieces that has grown from the collective endeavors of schools and volunteers from across Louisiana. Please recycle your Mardi Gras beads at the Arc of greater New Orleans or at St. Michael Special School.
