Today, on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, we're going to be doing a test fit of the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side. That's part number CM10950. You can pick up the driver side separately with part number CM10951 and for the passenger side separately with part number CM10952. As you can see, it offers us an extended field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or a camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself could be adjusted to most angles.

We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. With the way that it fits onto our factory housing, it's not going to interfere with the operation or movement of the mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the back side, it doesn't use any straps to hold it in place. It's going to match the contours and maintain that factory look. With it installed, it gives us a total length of 18-1/2 inches. Now I'll show you how easy it is to get installed.

To begin our test fit, we've got some assembly here. We've got two protective pads here. This one here gets installed on our shim and this one here gets installed on our mirror, and this one gets installed approximately here, roughly 10 inches from the end, but for demonstration purposes, we won't be installing those. Before we put our custom towing mirror in place, it's a good idea to make sure that our factory mirror is clean of any dirt or debris, so let's go ahead and wipe it down. We'll just take some cleaning solution and give it a good, quick wipe down. Now, let's slide it in place.

It's very simple. We need to be sure that it stays on the outside of our housing. We'll just slide it all the way on just like that. On the other side, we'll take our shim. We're going to slide it just behind our custom towing mirror until it makes contact with our factory mirror.

Then I'll take my hand knob and I'll tighten it down until it's secure. Once this side's done, we can go ahead and repeat the same process for our passenger side. That's going to complete our test fit of the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side, part number CM10950 on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab.
