Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not the future, it is the present. Intelligence is a psychological construct usually modelled via the IQ game (Intelligent Quotient).
In 1950, Alan Turing proposed to investigate the question of whether machines can think and the famous imitation game aimed at testing whether they can mimic human conversational ability. A few years later, in 1956, the term "Artificial Intelligence" was coined in a summer school where Professor McCarthy and colleagues met to discuss how to model human capabilities with machines. Many things have happened since that summer, and AI has evolved drastically. The current state of the art in Artificial Intelligence is a set of "narrow" machines specialised in various tasks that can indeed help humans. However, AI can be misused, and an appropriate, novel definition is that "Artificial machines can be considered having intelligence if their actions help achieve human goals". Problems exist around IQ and imitation games, including the abstract nature of the concept of "intelligence" and the inability to define it with a mere number. Additionally, these games do not consider another form of intelligence, emotional intelligence, the human ability to perceive, use, manage, and understand emotions. A novel extension of the imitation game called the game of emotions is proposed. Here it is shown how current "Narrow" machines can perceive, use and manage emotions almost as much as humans. However, if there is one thing that AI cannot do and
will never be able to do is to feel and understand emotions.
