World Champion Bull Rider Lane Frost lost his life at age 25 competing On July 30, 1989 at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Lane was riding in the short round finals and had drawn the bull "Takin' Care of Business". Frost had just completed an 85-point ride on the bull, when coming off he landed in the muddy arena. The bull turned and seeing Lane, struck him with a horn in the back, breaking several ribs and severing an artery causing fatal injuries. Champion Lane Frost 15 feet tall memorial monumental bronze sculpture is located at Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
