I'm experimenting with giving the razor a score, under different headings, over two shaves. This is the first time I've tried this, so please don't read too much into it. I'm curious to see how the scores compare, for each of the five slant bar razor's that I'll be using over the next few weeks.
Here are my scores (marked in brackets):
Monday's shave:
blade feel 0 1(2) 3 4
comfort 0 1 2 (3 4)
efficiency 0 1 2 3 (4)
soreness 0 1 2 3 (4)
(post shave)
Wednesday's shave:
blade feel 0 1 2) 3 4
comfort 0 1 2 (3 4)
efficiency 0 1 2 3 (4)
soreness 0 1 2 (3) 4
I initially used a scale from 0 - 3 but felt this didn't give me enough scope, so I added the extra number with the proviso that I can add an extra point on the scale if I need to, for example: if the aggression level of a razor is way off the scale.
The blade feel was quite nice and it was just right for me, in that I could feel where the blade was but it didn't intrude upon the shave or take away from the comfort of the shave. It was a comfortable razor to shave with; I've scored it as a three, on the first pass and a four, on the second and third passes. It is definitely an efficient razor, giving a smooth shave. The post shave soreness (razor burn) was pretty severe after the first shave; it settled down after 24 hours, leaving a residual soreness under the jaw. My second shave was a definite improvement and while I was sore it settled down after a few hours.
