Childe Hassam once said, "art is the interpretation of the impression which nature makes upon the eye and brain." Through art, every human being can interpret the said art with billions of meanings related to their life in many factors. They all communicate what is inside their brain through works of art which also affect the brain of other humans psychologically since a long time ago. Human reactions to the works of art by artists vary widely. For some people, art is therapeutic, some says it is a diversion, a remedy to a hectic life. Art can help humans express their feelings without speaking out loud. Art can also help people recalling their memories, revisiting old chapters of their life, triggering the nostalgic sentiment. Thus, how can art stay as something that humans rely on to make themselves feel something, for thousands of years? What exactly does art do to the human brain? How did the human brain react when they see, hear, or create art? Ifandi Rahim started Satu Persen ("One Percent") as a YouTube "life school" to promote self-development and mental health among Indonesian youths, to help them improve by at least 1% each day. With its mission of helping each person live to the fullest, Satu Persen has grown to around 1 million social media followers. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
