Making his debut in 1977 in Manimuzhakkam, popular for his comic oriented performances, he has by now acted in over 200 movies, including the eccentric roles recently in Passenger, Makante Achan etc.
His notable works include Chintavishtayaaya Shyamala, scripted and directed by himself, to receive the National Award in 1998 for best film on other social Issues. He has worked the screenplay for various movies including Oodaruthammava aalariyan - 1984, Sandesam - 1991, Udayanaanu thaaram - 2005. Other famous works include Mazhayetthum Munpe, Kathaparayumbol, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Ayal kathayezhuthukeyaanu, and numerous combination performances with superstar Mohanlal.
