As they say, variety is the spice of life. Favourite spice? I’d probably say Geri in *that* dress. What’s that, Baby Spice you say? Nah, you can keep her - I like a woman with curves: something you can plunge both hands into or stick your head between while making a loud raspberry noise... so to speak. Yeah, if all the Spice Girls trundled over to Whitnash and banged on my door beggin’ and pleading for some Savery saveloy, Geri’s the lucky one getting to wipe her big boots on the welcome mat. The rest will just have to cope with their disappointment and bob off for a little cry somewhere.
Mind you, at my age and having been married for 23 years, I doubt I’d know what to do with her. I’d probably bore her with my collection of multifunction testers just as I’m boring you all right now, then take her to the Hungry Horse pub for a couple of Carlsberg’s and a steak & ale pie from off the ‘two for £7.99’ menu.
But I digress, I meant to talk about variety, and when it comes to the world of multifunction testers, things don’t have to be as black and white as the age-old question of whether one simply plumps for a Megger *or* a Fluke. There are other options. When it comes to selecting an MFT, you should be sure to choose something that has the desired feature set for now and for the type of work you think you’ll be performing in the future. Brands such as Megger and Fluke command high prices; you’ll get something that does more but costs less if you look at lesser-known marques, although budget brands may have cut corners that affect robustness or reliability in the long term.
Anyway, this vid got cooked up after our Friday job was canned thanks to APC Overnight failing to deliver Tuesday’s order on Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or even Friday. Feckin’ courier firms – they have one job for frick’s sake, and when they don’t do it, I don’t get to do mine. Still, if they had done their job, I’d have been out earning money Friday afternoon and this nonsense wouldn’t exist. Every cloud and all that… if indeed the existence of this video is viewed as a positive thing…
… if not, blame APC Overnight. And Carlsberg.
