A look at another delicious exploration into edible upcycling, this time in the form of Detroit Style Pizzas.
In partnership with Square Pie Guys Pizza, whose pop-ups have been taking San Francisco by storm, ReGrained showcased the culinary potential of SuperGrain+.
SuperGrain+ flour is crafted in partnership with some of the Bay Area’s favorite craft breweries. This innovative flour is made from the nutritious grain created every time that beer is brewed. Brewing beer extracts the sugar, but concentrates and leaves behind the other nutrients. SuperGrain+ offers more plant protein and fiber than every other grain flour on the market — while enhancing flavor and function.
SPG and ReGrained combined their talents to craft an original menu featuring upcycled SuperGrain+ pizza crust and locally sourced ingredients—hosted at San Francisco's Standard Deviant brewery.
All profits were donated to FoodShift, a nonprofit dedicated to developing solutions that reduce wasted food, feed communities, and provide jobs.
