I want to add that I am personally not defending the design. It is what it is. Most of the folks who don't like this connector do not understand that this is the same connector design that is on the 30 FE series and 3090ti. The pin out is identical to that of the 30 series FE. The 3090ti also has this connector and has had variants that draw 500 watts as well over this connector. I understand those went to 1 to 2 and 1 to 3. Now we have 1 to 4 on some 4090s. Yes that increases the overall wires that are "hot" but the design is not new, meaning similar issues could of happened before as well.
