Soaking PC Monitors With Water - Here's Why

I decided to drench this expensive monitor in water, and here’s why.

So for years now most monitors have shipped with an ugly matte or semi matte finish over the display to diffuse reflections and make them less noticeable, but you can’t really stop reflections and these coatings severely harm the color and clarity of the display.

Now in the past you could easily remove them by soaking the display with wet paper towels for 3-5 hours and then using a prying tool to peel it off.

However, as I found out, many modern displays like this one have the anti glare coating printed perfectly on top of the polarising filter making it very difficult to separate, and easy to damage.
