Tuberculosis is the second leading cause of death by infectious disease in the world right now. Number one has only existed for a year and a half.
While much more is known about the former, including effective treatments, the world still struggles to alleviate its burden. Part of the problem is how new technology, such as IGRA and NAAT, made pathways more complex, even if more effective.
In this video, I’ll review the evidence and try to clear up everything you need to know about latent TB: as a practitioner or a student. In my years of practice in Brazil, and even in the United States, I often saw people with suspicion for latent or active TB. Distilling the main concepts and relevant evidence for it will hopefully make it easier for you as well.
