I've been sitting on this project for a while but I finally did it today. The aging LCD was getting a little dim so I I ordered a nice bright yellow OLED.
The CZ -101 is my favorite synth so I was hesitant cracking it open, but I'm glad I did. The value up and down buttons made programming patches a little fiddly, so the data dial was an obvious upgrade.

Plus, the knob adds a cool side effect. The synth retriggers notes every value change when pressed, so you can just hold down a key and wiggle the dial to make some very cool choppy, very un-1984 sounds. I was able to add some functionality, and didn't break it at all. I'm satisfied, and relieved.
