The verbs Be, Have, and Do are the most common verbs in the English language. Understanding these verbs will really help you understand verb tenses. In this lesson I show you the difference between helping verbs and main verbs. Helping verbs are often called auxiliary verbs. Verb tenses can be difficult to learn because not only is the verb indicating time, it also changes forms to indicate those different times. For example, continuous tenses are made by using the verb "be" + ing on the main verb. Perfect tenses are made by using the verb "have" + changed form of main verb. Perfect continuous tenses are made by using "have" + "been" + ing on the main verb. In this series you will learn how to use each of these forms and I'm going to give you lots of examples and give you a thorough explanation. It'll be fun! If you have any questions about verb tenses or other aspects of the English language, let me know!
