In this video I review the Kamerar SD-1 Mark II Slider Dolly, a nice little 2-in-1 slider/wheeled dolly that can help you pull off some nice cinematic shots.
It's worked well for some winter shots, sitting on my carbon fiber tripod, but it works much better being double mounted on 2 tripods. The ability to adjust the wheels also makes for some nice curved motion so long as the surface is smooth. For rough surfaces, it is much better to limit yourself to the slider function or go with a gimbal, or just handheld.
It's worth noting that my unit seemed to ship incomplete and possibly with some faulty/unfinished machining. Nonetheless, it's functional to the degree that I am able to use it.
It tends to slide end-to-end with shocking bumps, so you may have to custom pad the slider or be gentle in your slides. My only other gripe is that the unit is a bit long for a wheeled dolly, but a good length for the slider.
If you're looking to get more serious shots with larger movement, you might be interested in something like a jib/crane or custom make your contraption.
