8 persons have reportedly been killed and over a thousand have fallen sick after a major chemical gas leakage at LG Polymers industry in Visakhapatnam, officials said. More than 200 have been hospitalised after the incident. The incident happened at around 3 am at LG Polymers Ltd at Gopalapatnam, when people in the nearby colonies were fast asleep. The leak has reportedly affected at least 20 villages in an area of 3 kms around the plant. PM has called an emergecy meet of NDMA after the incident.
