Welcome to the Evening Walk in the center of Kalamaki. Kalamaki is a modern tourist resort located in the south-eastern part of the island of Zakynthos, about 5 km from the capital Zante. Kalamaki is located near Zakynthos Dionysios Solomos Airport on the edge of Laganas Bay.
It is a newly developing resort with a number of modern hotels and a nice promenade. The village is part of the Zakynthos National Marine Park. It is a Coastal National Park protecting beaches and coastal wildlife including the endangered Careta sea turtle.
At Kalamaki Beach you can see groups of Caretta Caretta sea turtles and you can also meet Mediterranean seals. The beach is closed at night because that's when the turtles lay their eggs and water sports are prohibited here because of the turtles.
