Clive Palmer has today announced he will be re-launching his dream of building a scale replica of the Titanic, although he’s hoping this one will not meet the same tragic ending.

Palmer has said that Titanic II will be “far, far superior than the original Titanic”, unveiling a video that showed a 3D rendering of the ocean liner, complete with passengers using the near-identical dining rooms, swimming pools, and the famous staircase.

Some of the notable changes from the original design include modern radar systems to improve safety and enough lifeboats for all the passengers and crew in the event of an emergency.

This isn’t the first time that Palmer has launched grand plans to revive the ill-fated ship, first unveiling the designs back in 2012, with the promise of the ship setting sail in 2016.

Now, Palmer is planning to have the ship’s construction start in early 2025 for its expected maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 2027.
