This is the HDK-01 being utilized in conjunction with an HD video mixer (Roland V-1HD) for the keying. A lot of happy accidents here. Lady Fortuna really likes the stark b&w source footage. Different footage will get you different results, explore and experiment.

Production notes: I always wanted to make an homage to Aronofsky’s Pi. Pi was a huge influence on me as a kid. While it does annoyingly romanticize mental illness (imo), it was dope to see something so gritty and cyberpunk on the big screen in ma' youth. I think the takeaway from it for me as a kid was that it was okay to lock yourself away, work on your craft and go a little crazy in the process. I know that’s not the intended message, haha... but I think that's how I internalized it.

Source: Streaming TV playback via a Macbook Pro into the HDK-01. From there I'm outputting both the glitch signal & the clean signal into their own separate channels on a Roland V-1HD video mixer & keying between them adjusting key sharpness and depth to taste. Computer capture on the Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4k at 1080p in the PRORES LT setting. Framerate dumbed down to 23.9fps for a fighting chance with YT compression. Post work includes time posterization, additional keying and time alteration in Adobe Premier.
