Social entrepreneur Muhammad Yunus was appointed to head up Bangladesh’s interim government on Thursday, following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier this week.
He received the Nobel Peace Price in 2006 for pioneering the use of microcredit and microfinance to help lift people out of poverty, which earned him the nickname “banker to the poor”.
