*Always go to your card manufactures website, and use the exact model number (SKU) to identify the power draw. Because even if the card has the same chip, power draw can sometimes vary due to the card's memory, and or chip clock speed.

One of the major benefits of the Mac Pro 4.1 and 5.1 is that you can easily replace the old graphics card with a new one.

Personally, I did pick the RX560 because it only uses 75watts of power, and therefore keeps the system much cooler.

For people who like to play games, the Radeon RX580 would be the better choice since it has about twice the performance of the RX560.

But this also comes at a cost, the faster RX580 can sometimes cost $300 or more, while the RX560 is sometimes available for as low as $100.

I also noticed that under macOS, using Steam, gaming performance seems to be lower than under Windows 10.

But for most people who use a Mac Pro, gaming will probably not be the priority.

If your goal is to have a halfway decent system for video editing, and occasional gaming, then the RX560 should work just fine.

Maybe one day, if my budget allows for it, I will try the Sapphire RX580 or even the VEAG, but for now, the low-end card seems to be just fine.

The only thing you may want to stay away from is the RX550, since it may not work, and also has a poorer price value ration compared to the RX560.

All in all, I noticed a massive increase in responsiveness when using my system compared to the very old Nvidia stock graphics card.

If you have an old Mac Pro, or if you are considering buying one on eBay, I would definitely recommend upgrading the graphics card as well.

Of course, you could install newer Nvidia models as well, but since the Radeon RX series, seems to be supported by macOS High Sierra natively, it appears to be the easiest choice.
