A practice animatic for my favorite book, Catcher in the Rye. The events happening in this video are all mostly scenes from it, so here's a brief synoposis to help with context for people who haven't read it: The point I find in CR seems to be Holden's need to hold on to his innocence and childhood. He's mentioned how he's been abused in the past, so it's probable for him to want to reclaim a somewhat shattered childhood. He makes a comment on how he wants to be the "catcher in the rye," saying he imagines children, dancing and playing in a rye field by a cliff. He's there to make sure the kids don't fall, and when they do, he simply catches them. This is most likely a metaphor for him either wanting to capture back his chilhood by hanging on to them over a cliff (adulthood) or just the need to save other kids from going down the same hole. Yeah, can you tell English is my best subject?
