These molasses cookies are spicy and chewy, they store well and can be frozen.
3/4 C soft butter
1 C brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 C molasses
1 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 C white sugar for rolling the dough
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, molasses, vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Scoop dough balls into the white sugar and place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 9-12 minutes. Cool, then store in an airtight container. you can freeze them in bags also.
