Apolinario Mabini, the First Prime Minister of the Philippines, and also known as the Brains of the Revolution. In 1896, Apolinario Mabini contracted polio and eventually got paralyzed on both legs. Apolinario Mabini served as an adviser for Emilio Aguinaldo, who was the first president of the Philippines. Emilio Aguinaldo fully trusts Apolinario Mabini’s advice regarding his own actions. Apolinario Mabini’s persuasive power over Emilio Aguinaldo was so powerful that his critics called him the “Dark Chamber of the President” Apolinario Mabini used his position to help create the many foundations of the Philippine Republic. Till Apolinario Mabini's death in 1903, he showed continuous support for Philippine Independence.
